Notices – w/c 24th January 2016

AGM – Sunday 31st January – NEXT WEEK

A reminder that the AGM will be held after the service on 31st January. All papers available in the Vestibule.

Boys’ Brigade

We have once again signed up to Sainsbury’s Active Kids voucher scheme. Active Kids vouchers are available every time you shop in store at Sainsbury’s and spend £10 or more. However, this year you will not get separate vouchers for every £10 you spend, but a single printed piece of paper with the number of vouchers shown on the front.

Active Kids vouchers can be collected from Wednesday 27th January through to Tuesday 3rd May 2016.

By collecting the vouchers our Company can redeem Active Kids vouchers for a wide range of activity and cooking equipment. The more vouchers we can collect the more we can get out of the scheme, so it’s all about getting everybody to bring along as many as they can to BB or to Christ Church where there will be a collecting box in the usual place.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT

Film Night

Come and start Lent with the film THE WAY followed by a discussion.

Wednesday 10th February (7.00pm) in the Chapel. Film.

Wednesday 17th February (7.30pm) in the vestibule. Discussion.

THE WAY is a powerful and inspirational story about family, friends and the challenges we face while navigating this ever-changing and complicated world.

Martin Sheen plays Tom, an irascible American doctor who comes to France to deal with the tragic loss of his son. Rather than return home, Tom decides to embark on the historical pilgrimage “The Way of St. James” to honour his son’s desire to finish the journey.

What Tom doesn’t plan on is the profound impact this trip will have on him. Through unexpected and oftentimes amusing experiences along “The Way,” Tom discovers the difference between “the life we live and the life we choose.”

Good Grief

During the last few weeks of Lent this year there will be an exhibition of sculptures in Christ Church on the theme of grief.

If you are interested  in helping in any way with the planning and staging of this exhibition, or just being available to talk with people, then please contact Nick Skelding.
